Finding New Doors to Unlock

Finding New Doors to Unlock

Embarking on a journey towards our goals can be both exciting and daunting. It's like standing in front of a closed door, wondering what lies beyond. But how do we find the key to unlock that door and move forward?

Setting Clear Objectives

The first step in finding new doors to unlock is to set clear and specific goals. Research shows that individuals who set specific goals are 10 times more likely to achieve them compared to those who have vague goals. By defining what you want to achieve, you are already taking the first step.

I truly believe that having clear goals set for myself and my family for our future is what unlocked this door for this opportunity that we have to move back to Minnesota and continue to grow in not only my career but, in our personal lives as well. If we do not have clear goals set, how are we supposed to measure what we are working towards and keep track of the smaller accomplishments that give us the momentum to keep moving forward?

Developing a Strategic Plan

Once you have your goals in place, the next step is to develop a strategic plan. This involves breaking down your goals into smaller, manageable tasks and creating a timeline for completion. Studies have shown that individuals who have a written plan are 50% more likely to achieve their goals.

While this part is the most difficult for most people, including myself, it is crucial that we remember that we just need to start! This can be tweaked and revised along the way but you will want to have an outline to make sure that you are doing the things that are going to move the needle forward and putting the rest of the BS in the back seat.

Remember, there is no better time to start than NOW!

Seeking Continuous Learning

One key to unlocking new doors is to continuously seek knowledge and skills that will help you progress towards your goals. Whether it's through formal education, online courses, or self-study, investing in your personal development is crucial for moving the needle forward in life.

There is SO much incredible information out there that is free to consume and learn from. However, if we just consume, consume, consume and never do anything different or put anything into action, what's the point? It is 110% up to us the information that we consume and what we do with it! Everyday, I learn something new, whether it is from a podcast, reading, or taking an online course. I encourage you to learn something new everyday as well.

Embracing Challenges and Failures

It's important to remember that challenges and failures are inevitable on the path towards our goals. Instead of seeing them as roadblocks, view them as opportunities for growth and learning. Research shows that individuals who embrace challenges and learn from failures are more resilient and better equipped to achieve their goals.

There is no hiding the fact that dealing with setbacks sucks. I have always looked at these roadblocks as things that were happening TO me and now I look at them as things that are happening FOR me. This simple change has made a world of difference on how I view things that happen in this crazy world that we live in.

Cultivating a Growth Mindset

Finally, unlocking new doors towards your goals requires cultivating a growth mindset. This mindset believes that abilities and intelligence can be developed through dedication and hard work. By adopting a growth mindset, you are more likely to persevere in the face of obstacles and setbacks.

Consistency is key and every day is a new day to learn something new and not only get better yourself, but make someone else better along the way. Of course, I work this hard for myself and my family but, I also want to be able to help as many other like minded people that may be stuck in the same position in life that I was.

So, as you stand in front of that closed door, remember that the key to unlocking it lies within YOU. By setting clear goals, developing a strategic plan, seeking continuous learning, embracing challenges, and cultivating a growth mindset, you are well on your way to moving the needle forward towards your goals in life.
